Can you help me with my FA? I decapped a reject and found a melted wire, but the met lines on the die are all ok! Is this possible? I thought met lines burn out first before the wire gets melted? Or at least both of them should be melted? The die still looks clean, so should I blame the wire in my FA report? Maybe the wire is damaged?

melted wire but die is clean with no burned metal traces? yes sure it could happen. it means your die is dissipates heat much better than your wire. maybe your die is attached to leadframe very well and your leadframe design is good heat conductor.
