I'll bet that if Maxim goes to $65 (1.5x), then Amkor would be at $25 (5x). I will therefore bet my money on Amkor.

What if the opposite side of the market took place???

If MXIM becomes $20, then AMKR would be $1. Simple mathematics eh.

C'mon... stock prices goes up and down, but definitely not the way how you compute it. Razz

involving ur money in stocks is a stake, either u win, or u lose... though majority says few lose on stocks, breakeven is more and winners most...

it just depends on how the business is going and how you'll trade it at the stock market...

not true at all. many committed suicide during the bubble burst of 2000-2001 because they lost their lifetime savings in stocks. the reason you think many are making money from this is because people who make money are noisy about it, but always become quiet when they lose money. i know several people who are like this.

perhaps but if they lost their lifetime savings, then commit suicide then they just didn't lose that lifetime savings but they're lost on the right track also... why? first and foremost, why invest a lifetime savings in such gamble? stocks is gamble! that's poor investments management!

second, if they've lost that lifetime savings in stocks then they should have learned a VERY BIG LESSON and shouldn't repeat the same scenario but should still think that it was part of God's plan, that it happened for a reason, that their is still a life after that...

Guys,

Hold your fire......the topic here is stock option / grant , normally stock options/ grant are just a benefit being given mostly by multi national companies , so wala tayong control dyan , I remember when I was still in IDT , the grant price to us is just $7 US per share and as engineer we received 150 shares per year starting 1996 and you know what, on year 2000, the priced of stocks became $105 US , which means $98 US gain , but hindi araw-araw fiesta , dumating yung panahon ng 2001 , they gave us 200 shares per yr (meaning 2001-2005 grant) but the price is $47 per share and after several yrs , bumagsak ang price to single digit , then consuelo de bobo ng company , nag re=price , they changed it to $10.8, but the number of shares will be reduced , so pumayag kami dahil choice mo nman kung magi-exchange ka o hindi at hindi mo pa alam ang magiging price pag nag exchange ka , kung baga parang sugal, but look guys , nagsara IDT Philippines , magkano ngayon ang stocks namin , around $11.+ at least may tubo ng konti , but hindi pa rin sure yon because any time pwede naming hindi pakinabangan yung stocks na yon , lalo kung hindi na tumaas ang presyo.

Korek!!! Dapat bang may tax o wala.

First binili nila Integrated Circuit Systems, tapos this week yung Freescale Semiconductor.

People treated stock options differently. When you sell your stocks and get taxed for it, then you may declare those money you earned as part of your income. Right?
I hope those people from credit card companies and compensation specialists treated and valued stocks as part of the deal.

Ayan naaaaaa!!!!!!

TechWeek: Semis Feeling Chipper

When all the numbers are crunched, worldwide chip sales in 2005 will have totaled $235 billion, an all-time high and a 6.9% increase from 2004, according to a report released Friday by market researcher Gartner. If you needed it, the report is more evidence that the sector has fully recovered from the dot-com bomb. This is the first year that total chip sales surpassed the record set at the height of the boom in 2000.
