Hi IC Man,
Your question is not so clear, but I think you are asking what ESD voltages an IC must pass to be qualified for use in a certain system, right?
Well, you first need to tell us in which system the IC will be used. The system where it will be used will affect the ESD vulnerability of the device: is the system easy to ground? is the system used in an ESD-safe environment? is the process for assembling the IC into the system ESD-protected? is the system subject to movements that cause static charges to be generated?
You can only define what ESD voltages an IC must pass after you determine how much ESD voltage can be generated by your system from manufacture to actual field use.
I hope I understood your question. If not, just clarify it and I'll try to answer again. |
