It's not the company, Newbie, but how many times you've been pirated. I know a lot of people who are already more than 15 years in one company but their salary is not yet high. But some are just 10 years in the industry with higher salary because they just keep on transferring to another company. So kung gusto mong lumaki ang suweldo mo, galingan mo sa trabaho mo at lumipat ka every 3 years.

After all, nag-u-usap-usap din naman ang mga HR managers ng iba't ibang kumpanya eh, so yung 'average' compensation ng companies ay hindi na naglalalayo. Nasa tao yan dahil the only way your salary will go up is if your company thinks you're important. Then they'll give you 'higher than average' so you'll stay with them. Try to get as much training as possible at your company's expense.

Newbie, I agree with the others in saying that, since you are new in the industry it would be advisable to first concentrate more in gaining more valuable experience. The monetary rewards of being a semiconductor engineer will come as your working experience broadens. When you are very good in your job and are quite confident that you will be able to handle problems or projects, demanding for a good salary in your current company (because they would always think twice of letting yo go) and from other companies (companies usually pirate the good ones) would be easier. |
