Hi CS,

High temp storage is usually performed to accelerate failure mechanisms that are accelerated by temp only, such as oxidation and intermetallic growth. These mechanisms will occur with the application of temp over time, whether or not the package is precond'ed. If you're using the HTS to accelerate a failure mechanism that you think is related to package delam or cracking, then feel free to precon your samples. Otherwise, HTS is OK without precon if you're only after oxidation, intermetallic growth, etc.
