We have a bake-recoverable customer retrun and somebody said it might be esd. Is this true? I thought esd damage can not be recovered by bake. Please confirm.

Shawie,
whoever said you that must be a boss. its like saying you can survive after being embalmed. why don't you shove up the recovered unit to your boss' ___?

Sorry to disappoint you, Abel, but there are really ESD failures that are bake-recoverable. Of course, devices that have suffered from metal burn-outs or dielectric punchtrhoughs can't rise from their graves again, but not all ESD failures are like them. Some are just due to the injection of hot carriers in the gate oxide of MOS devices, which can be recovered by bake. In fact, there are many published reports on latent esd recovery by bake.
