Hi,

I am a new QA Engr and have been asked by my manger to establish a PPM calculation methodology for our outgoing QC test.

Do I have to use certain confidence limit i.e. 60%, 90% to come up with the methodology? Or just have to use the simple calculation for parts per million? What do you recommend? Am I thinking too hard for a simple problem? Any suggested reading?

Thanks for your help.

Rgds,

Curious Guest,

What you probably need is this: EIA Standard 554 - Method Selection for Assessment of Nonconforming Levels in Parts Per Million (PPM) (ANSI/EIA-554-A-96).

The spec can be bought online. I don't know if you can find something off the net for free that explains this.
