I use to be a PCB layout designer. I want to better myself by knowing what kind of problems that can occur in regards to loadboards and sockets.

Test Engineers, what are your biggest headache? What kind of problems are you encountering today that still hasn't been solve or still reoccuring?

Please help! As a loadboard and socket manufacturer, I want to be able to correct these things and make it alot easier for everyone.

definitely the biggest problem is still contact issues that can cause test repeatability/reproducibility problems...

we also encountered recently eos due to metal parts (like screws or heatsinks) shorting live nodes. the annoying thing is the short is intermittent. its only there if force is applied to the loadboard. then there's the burning of traces that do not point to the short. its really difficult to troubleshoot this kind of problem. its also difficult to prove to the designer bcos the short is gone if loadboard is not installed.
